Gay Wedding in Australia
Wedding: Melbourne
This was a wedding Australia would not allow.
A wedding a father refused to attend. A wedding siblings would not recognise.
This was a wedding I can't post all images from because if he is identified, my client's career might be at risk - his employment contract includes a "morality clause". Where's the good at the root of that?
Like any other wedding this was between two people who love each other.
And yet, this was the wedding that reminded me what weddings are about.
In the face of the hurtful rejection of family, prejudice cloaked as morality, and a country that does not recognise their union, Peter and James, under British law at the British Consulate in Melbourne, still chose to commit to each other.
They still chose love.
