Welcome!

You're looking for a Europe wedding photographer, and you found me.

I'm Nicholas Purcell, a destination wedding photographer who shoots weddings around the world.

This is what I look like. Honest, respectable, the glasses are a little arty perhaps.

I want you to consider me for your wedding but first I want to show you some of my favourite photos from my travels around Europe. Some are wedding photos, some are just travel snaps.

Santorini

Santorini is such a breath-taking place. I spent less than a week here with Anna my wife in 2004 and it was pure bliss. The volcano is worth the trip if only for the hand-scribbled "Warning Active Volcano" signs. The hot springs are wonderful. Highly recommended. Below are some shots from a late night walk.

Italy

I love jazz and couldn't resist the Umbria Jazz Festival. It's such a great, festive atmosphere.

My wife is a classical pianist and while in Vienna we visited the flat where Schubert died. It was quiet and still and very humble. There was something very moving about being the only visitors there that day.

Iceland

It was so cold but there was such stoicism about these Icelandic horses. I wonder if you are exposed to cold your entire life whether you just stop noticing it.

Now on to some questions you might have:

1) Does he do great work?

My work has featured in lots of blogs including Style Me Pretty, I've been quoted on Brides.com and I've been included on this list. Here's a few of my favourite photos or check out my work here or here.

2) Can I afford him?

I'm very affordable. My rates start at USD$2800 - EUR$2500 - CNY¥17,250 PLUS travel. Usually I'm shooting your wedding all day and even the days before and after - I don't watch the clock. If you can't afford this but have an amazing wedding or elopement planned drop me a line anyway and tell me about it, everything's negotiable.

3) Does he have good testimonials?

Read more testimonials here but this is my favourite testimonial. It's from Ellie, a client whose wedding I shot in Canada last year:

Nicholas was absolutely incredible throughout the whole wedding experience. Our wedding pictures are so beautiful and truly capture the mood and details of the whole day. Having seen samples of Nicholas’ work, we knew how talented he is, but our photos blew us away (there were definitely tears during the first viewing). He captured exactly what we were hoping for - candid and natural, these are memories that we have forever.

For two individuals who do not typically like being in the spotlight or having numbers of pictures taken, my husband and I were both a little nervous about that aspect of the day. Nicholas’ calm and discrete presence allowed us to be 100% comfortable during the process. In fact, we both agreed that it was one of our favourite parts of our wedding day, as we had some special time together.
We really cannot recommend Nicholas enough - his work is stunning and he is a truly lovely person to be around on your special day. Thank you!!

4) Why wouldn't I hire a local?

If photography is important to you, you know that it's an art, it's something highly personal and it should be unique. Hire the person who you think does that best, regardless of where they live.

You need to find someone who will give you genuine, heartfelt, inspiring photographs and you click with personally. Please read my philosophy and approach here to learn who I am and whether I'm the right person for you. I'm never ever satisfied artistically and so I'm always pushing myself to create better work. I hope my best work is ahead of me.

If I am the right person for you, then travel isn't an issue.
