New York Wedding Blog: Wedding Venues

You're engaged and feeling on top of the world. So why not actually have your wedding on top of the world (well...close to)? Aspire New York is the private events space at One World Observatory. For this profile I spoke to Amber King, Director, Special Events Sales & Planning at Aspire at One World Observatory.

Tell us about your venue. How long have you been holding weddings and how many weddings do you hold per year?

Aspire at One World Observatory is located at the very top of One World Observatory, 1,250 feet high above Manhattan.  The 9,000 square foot space is encased by floor-to-ceiling windows and offers a 360 degree view of New York City.  Since opening in 2015, Aspire at One World Observatory has hosted a variety of special events and occasions from corporate functions to holiday parties to product launches, galas and weddings. As a premier venue, our events team make it possible to guarantee dream weddings for our couples.

Why should a couple consider your venue over other venues?

Our space offers one-of-a-kind, stunning panoramic skyline views of New York City and its surrounding area. There is simply no other place like it, in the city and even aroundthe world.  The aesthetic of Aspire at One World Observatory is fully customizable and can be converted into any design concept imaginable, catering to a couple’s preferred taste.  With the city’s iconic skyline as a backdrop, couples have the opportunity to work alongside our elite events team, which works closely with the bride and groom to fully understand their visions.

What’s the first thing brides usually ask when they come and see you?

When visiting our venue for the first time, brides are generally interested in how the team at Aspire at One World Observatory can create their dream wedding… and how we can maximize the gorgeous city views!

The vibrant New York City scenes that are visible from above add so much charm and character – almost as an additional guest. We love being able to share that with couples on their big day!

What size functions can you hold/host?

Approximately 350 guests for a reception style event and 225 guests for a reception and dinner event.

Can couples bring in their own caterer? What about alcohol?

Our space offers a variety of in-house food and alcohol options for all events.  Our events team will work with the bride and groom on their preferences and will work to accommodate their requests.

Can the ceremony be held at your venue?

Yes, absolutely.  We can accommodate both a reception and ceremony.

Are the couple free to decorate as they like?

Yes. If the city skyline is our #1 best feature, our ability to customize our space is not far behind at #2.  We partner with the best of the best in a wide variety of areas, including those who specialize in floral arrangements, lighting, furniture, among others, to create each wedding’s unique ambiance.

If your venue is outdoors is there a backup space in case of rain?

Aspire at One World Observatory is a fully enclosed space.

Could you give our readers some indication of the range of prices for hiring your venue?

Each of our clients’ designs are unique to each event. When starting out with a blank canvas, all weddings and events are created differently based the vision and priorities of our guests, therefore all fees for events and rentals are determined on a case by case basis.

How early do couples need to book you?

As soon as a couple has a few date options, we recommend they contact our events department to put a hold on our calendar.

What time at night can weddings stay at your venue?

Weddings are permitted to run until midnight. (We can always appreciate a late night dance floor!)

Do you offer accommodation options?

One World Observatory has relationships with surrounding hotels located in the heart of downtown Manhattan, and our team can provide recommendations.

What other (if any) wedding services do you offer?

We work with exclusive NYC Wedding vendors for items such as furniture rentals, florals, specialty cakes, lighting, and entertainment companies.

How can people get in contact with you?
