Located in Manhattan with 3 Michelin stars and the highest 4 Star rating from The New York Times, Le Bernardin is one of the world's best restaurants and an unforgettable choice for your wedding. For this profile I spoke to Director of Private Events Karin Burroughs.

Tell us about your venue. How long have you been holding weddings and how many weddings do you hold per year?

The private dining rooms of Le Bernardin reflect the understated luxury and elegance of the Main Dining Room. Floor to ceiling windows, etched glass, and wooden coffered ceilings add to the ambiance of a truly exciting place. Our spaces can host up to 150 guests for a cocktail reception followed by a seated dinner, and can be subdivided to accommodate different configurations and seating plans for various party sizes and desires. Our menus, carefully created by Chef Eric Ripert and the Le Bernardin culinary team, allow guests to enjoy the same experience of quality and creativity synonymous with Le Bernardin. On average, our dedicated private events team has hosted approximately 20 weddings per year since 2000.

Why should a couple consider your venue over other venues?

Besides the intimate and elegant décor of the rooms, the food and service are incomparable to other venues. Le Bernardin is rated among the leading restaurants in the world, and this quality and dedication to detail is carried over to all of our private events.  Every couple receive personalized attention from the initial planning through the end of their event.  Personally, one of the elements I find most heartwarming are the couples who chose to return to dine at Le Bernardin for their future anniversaries.

What’s the first thing brides usually ask when they come and see you?

Often many couples who inquire about hosting their special occasions at Le Bernardin have either dined with us previously, or have long held Le Bernardin on their wish list. Upon first visiting the space, the most common questions are generally about the room capacities, overall pricing and if we are able to customize the event to their specific requests. Overall we spend time on all special requests, ensuring their expectations are met.

What size functions can you hold/host?

Le Bernardin can host up to 150 guests for a cocktail reception followed by a seated dinner. For more intimate affairs, hosts have the option of our smaller private room, or subdividing the space to meet their needs.

Can the ceremony be held at your venue?

Yes

Are the couple free to decorate as they like?

Yes. We offer a recommended list of floral designers, but couples are welcome to use their preferred vendor.

Could you give our readers some indication of the range of prices for hiring your venue?

Depending upon the size of the party to meet a minimum spend, lunch events are generally $175 per person and dinner events are $350 per person, plus discretionary gratuity, 5% administration fee and sales tax.

How early do couples need to book you?

We generally advise booking approximately 6 months in advance but are often able to accommodate smaller groups with less notice.

What time at night can weddings stay at your venue?

Timing is open for discussion.

Do you offer accommodation options?

Le Bernardin does not offer overnight accommodations but there are a wide range of hotels in the immediate area.

What other (if any) wedding services do you offer?

We offer vendor suggestions for décor, music, entertainment etc. options for all budgets.

How can people get in contact with you?
