If you are getting married and like the beach, but want to keep your wedding close to the city, Encore St Kilda Beach is a good option.

Tell us about your venue. How long have you been holding weddings and how many weddings do you hold per year?

Encore was conceived in 2011 when the owners identified the need within the Melbourne event scene for a premium beach side venue. The concept was to create a fresh and relaxed space which showcased the stunning views of Port Phillip Bay whilst offering a flexible and modern take on high end events.

Situated within the St Kilda Sea Baths, Encore is conveniently located a short 20 minutes from the city and only a hop and a skip away from the Mornington Peninsula. The venue inside has a modern and paired back feel with a range of neutral tones and textures of wood and concrete. The operable walls allow the venue to flex from the smallest of cocktail events through to large seated dinner dances.

Catering over 200 events per year with weddings making up over 50% of our client base, our in-house catering team have fine-tuned a premium, restaurant quality, menu for couples to choose their wedding menu from. Their hard work has been rewarded with the 'Wedding Caterer of the Year' award at the 'Victoria & Tasmania Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence' in both 2016 & 2018.

What’s the first thing brides usually ask when they come and see you?

Can we create our own package? The answer is yes. Whilst we offer a range of packages that have been put together based on our most commonly asked for inclusions, we also have the ability to create a completely bespoke option based on your requirements.

6 HOUR SEATED WEDDING - $153 PER HEAD
3 canapés on arrival, entrée (alternate), main (alternate), dessert - 2 sweet treats

What size functions can you hold/host?

Minimum seated wedding - 30 guests
Maximum seated wedding - 270 guests

Minimum cocktail style - 50 guests
Maximum cocktail style - 700 guests

Can couples bring in their own caterer? What about alcohol?

Absolutely, we allow the use external caterers for religious or cultural reasons and already have Kosher, Indian and Asian preferred caterers who are experienced at running events at Encore. Couples own preferred caterers can be considered on the premise of the above reasons, however admin/set up fees apply.

Can the ceremony be held at your venue?

We welcome couples who would like to get married at the venue, we host ceremonies on the dance floor overlooking views of Port Phillip Bay or in our intimate Garden Room. At the conclusion of your ceremony, champagne flows and we entertain your guests as you head along the beach for sunset photos. Due to space on our dance floor, this option is suitable for guest numbers of 150 or below.

Are the couple free to decorate as they like?

Couples are welcome to decorate the venue; the space is a blank canvas and suits a range of different styles. We do have a few guidelines to consider but we are happy to work with you to create something special.

We also work with a talented AV team who can add a touch of magic to your wedding with a range of lighting options.

If your venue is outdoors is there a backup space in case of rain?

The beach front verandah provides the perfect space for pre-dinner drinks and nibbles, with some rain coverage and outdoor heaters your guests can enjoy this spaces in a range of weather conditions. Should the weather be unsuitable, the adjacent dance floor makes for an equally accommodating area to entertain guests.

How early do couples need to book you?

For weekend dates over peak season (Oct-April) we advise booking 12-18 months ahead. For weekend dates in off peak season (May-Sept) we advise booking 6-12 months ahead. For midweek or lunch events chat to us at anytime.

What time at night can weddings stay at your venue?

Weddings can run until 1.00am and for a maximum duration of 6 hours. Our most popular wedding times would be: 6.00pm-12.00am or 6.30pm - 12.30am

Do you offer accommodation options?

Whilst we do not have accommodation on site, we are partnered with a range of hotels and apartments within the local area who offer Encore's guests preferred rates.
